My favorite subject in school is Mathematics. It is my favorite because I never have difficulty with it and always get good marks in tests.
I suppose I am lucky to be born with a clear-thinking brain. So ever since young, manipulating numbers and figures came easy to me.
The wonderful thing about Mathematics is that, besides some formulae, there is nothing else to remember. Every step in solving a problem is done logically. Other subjects like History and Geography require a lot of memory work. Remembering dates and other facts is hard work compared with the ease and simplicity of mathematical reasoning.
While Mathematics is simple to me, some of my friends have great difficulty with it. I do not really understand why. They get stuck with simple problems and often give up. So I help them out when I can.
The one advantage I have in being good in Mathematics is that I do not have to spend a lot of time on it. Homework and tests are a breeze. So I have plenty of time left over to study other subjects. Sometimes I feel sorry for my less fortunate classmates who get scolded in class for not completing their Mathematics homework.
Anyhow I have come to realize that human beings can be so different in their abilities while they look similar otherwise. Some of us are lucky to be good in some things. Others may not be so lucky.

Of all the subjects I study i like maths best. I think it is reasonable. You know maths helps you to exercise your brains, and make you smarter and more intelligent. Maths can be applied in all fields of selene, and naturally it is .said that maths is the mother of all subjects.
Maths has been developing rapidly. In the development of science and technology, there continuously appear problems which may be solved only with the help of maths. This in turn makes maths itself develop faster. Many examples can be cited to show the synchronous development of maths and technology and science. From this point of view, we are sure to say that maths will develop still faster, for ,science and technology will con tinue to advance without stop.
However, maths is not easy to master. It requires a high degree of intelligence. You can see some children who often fail to pass their maths examination, but others deal with it very easily. This difference obviously comes from tim levels of intelligence. But what is most important in mastering maths is one's hard work. Though one is less clever, he can master it through diligence. Countless facts have proved this point. Maths is a challenge and that is why I like it.

然而，学好数学是不容易的。数学要求高智力。你可以看到一些孩子常常数学考试不及格，而另外一些人处理数学问题却很容易。这一差别显然是由于智力水平造成的。但是，在掌握数学方面重要的是努力学习。尽管一个人不很聪明，但他能够通过勤奋学好数学。无数的事实证明了这一点。数学是富有挑战性的，这就是我喜欢它的原因。

啊——我发现了一个秘密！”听我这么说，你一定想知道我发现了一个什么秘密吧？别急，让我慢慢地来告诉你。那天晚上吃完饭，我在洗手间里洗手。突然，我往放在墙角的拖把上瞟了一眼。，看到的东西竟令我十分吃惊——拖把的木棍与布条的交界处有一个圆圆的小球。我连忙擦干手，蹲在拖把旁认真观察起来，并且用手轻轻的拨了一下那个小球。啊，那小球下面还有一根细细的茎。我凑近仔细地看了看，“啊！”我不禁叫出声来。那所谓的“小球”是一个小蘑菇，拖把上竟然长了一个小蘑菇！我不敢相信我的眼睛，又仔仔细细地看了一遍。那的确是一支小蘑菇，比我的小拇指还短一截。可能是因为细细的茎承受不住菇头的压力，已经压弯并盖住。如果不用手拨，，很难发现这是一个蘑菇。真像个毛茸茸的小球卧在拖把上，可爱极了！确认之后，我急忙跑出去向全家宣传了一遍：“重大消息，重大消息，家里的拖把上长蘑菇啦！”刚说完，爸爸妈妈都用奇怪的眼神看着我。我又添油加醋地把刚才看到的一切向她们叙述了一遍，并拉着他们到洗手间去看那长了蘑菇的“神奇”拖把。爸爸妈妈看了后，并只是讨论了几句。妈妈说：“哦，这没什么，已经长了好几次了，你不知道而已。”忽然，爸爸问我：“婷婷，你知道拖把上为什么会长出蘑菇吗？”呃，这下可把我问住了。我就马上东查查、西找找。终于在《十万个为什么》里找到了，便回答道：“可能是因为蘑菇是由一种微生物长成，而这种微生物在适当的条件下就会生长成蘑菇。拖把呢，经常是潮湿的，又放在阴暗的角落，木棍底部会有些腐烂，满足了微生物的生长条件，所以木棍与布条的交接处就长出菌——蘑菇啦！这跟下雨后草丛会长出蘑菇的道理是一样的。”说完这些，我长长地吁了一口气，同时用期待的目光看着爸爸。问道：“我说得对吗？”爸爸向我赞许地点点头，说：“是的！”我还增长了不少的知识。我真高兴，因为我发现了拖把上长蘑菇的秘密，并且懂得了其中的道理。其实科学就在你我的身边，只要你认真观察，积极思考，就一定会发现许多有趣的事情，尝到发现的喜悦与快乐！

还有一次，奶奶因有点事要外出，叫我帮她看看铺子。过了一会儿，有一个叔叔来买东西，他问我：“小朋友，这种东西多少钱？”“两块二毛。”我答道。后来那个叔叔拿了八件，给了我十七块四毛，我心里一算：二八十六，还差两毛钱，于是我连忙说：“叔叔，你应该付十七块六毛，还差两毛钱”。那个叔叔就补了两毛钱，我心里想数学的作用还挺大哩！
