My favorite subject in school is Mathematics. It is my favorite because I never have difficulty with it and always get good marks in tests.
I suppose I am lucky to be born with a clear-thinking brain. So ever since young, manipulating numbers and figures came easy to me.
The wonderful thing about Mathematics is that, besides some formulae, there is nothing else to remember. Every step in solving a problem is done logically. Other subjects like History and Geography require a lot of memory work. Remembering dates and other facts is hard work compared with the ease and simplicity of mathematical reasoning.
While Mathematics is simple to me, some of my friends have great difficulty with it. I do not really understand why. They get stuck with simple problems and often give up. So I help them out when I can.
The one advantage I have in being good in Mathematics is that I do not have to spend a lot of time on it. Homework and tests are a breeze. So I have plenty of time left over to study other subjects. Sometimes I feel sorry for my less fortunate classmates who get scolded in class for not completing their Mathematics homework.
Anyhow I have come to realize that human beings can be so different in their abilities while they look similar otherwise. Some of us are lucky to be good in some things. Others may not be so lucky.

Of all the subjects I study i like maths best. I think it is reasonable. You know maths helps you to exercise your brains, and make you smarter and more intelligent. Maths can be applied in all fields of selene, and naturally it is .said that maths is the mother of all subjects.
Maths has been developing rapidly. In the development of science and technology, there continuously appear problems which may be solved only with the help of maths. This in turn makes maths itself develop faster. Many examples can be cited to show the synchronous development of maths and technology and science. From this point of view, we are sure to say that maths will develop still faster, for ,science and technology will con tinue to advance without stop.
However, maths is not easy to master. It requires a high degree of intelligence. You can see some children who often fail to pass their maths examination, but others deal with it very easily. This difference obviously comes from tim levels of intelligence. But what is most important in mastering maths is one's hard work. Though one is less clever, he can master it through diligence. Countless facts have proved this point. Maths is a challenge and that is why I like it.

然而，學好數學是不容易的。數學要求高智力。你可以看到一些孩子常常數學考試不及格，而另外一些人處理數學問題卻很容易。這一差別顯然是由於智力水平造成的。但是，在掌握數學方面重要的是努力學習。盡管一個人不很聰明，但他能夠通過勤奮學好數學。無數的事實證明了這一點。數學是富有挑戰性的，這就是我喜歡它的原因。

啊——我發現了一個秘密！」聽我這么說，你一定想知道我發現了一個什麼秘密吧？別急，讓我慢慢地來告訴你。那天晚上吃完飯，我在洗手間里洗手。突然，我往放在牆角的拖把上瞟了一眼。，看到的東西竟令我十分吃驚——拖把的木棍與布條的交界處有一個圓圓的小球。我連忙擦乾手，蹲在拖把旁認真觀察起來，並且用手輕輕的撥了一下那個小球。啊，那小球下面還有一根細細的莖。我湊近仔細地看了看，「啊！」我不禁叫出聲來。那所謂的「小球」是一個小蘑菇，拖把上竟然長了一個小蘑菇！我不敢相信我的眼睛，又仔仔細細地看了一遍。那的確是一支小蘑菇，比我的小拇指還短一截。可能是因為細細的莖承受不住菇頭的壓力，已經壓彎並蓋住。如果不用手撥，，很難發現這是一個蘑菇。真像個毛茸茸的小球卧在拖把上，可愛極了！確認之後，我急忙跑出去向全家宣傳了一遍：「重大消息，重大消息，家裡的拖把上長蘑菇啦！」剛說完，爸爸媽媽都用奇怪的眼神看著我。我又添油加醋地把剛才看到的一切向她們敘述了一遍，並拉著他們到洗手間去看那長了蘑菇的「神奇」拖把。爸爸媽媽看了後，並只是討論了幾句。媽媽說：「哦，這沒什麼，已經長了好幾次了，你不知道而已。」忽然，爸爸問我：「婷婷，你知道拖把上為什麼會長出蘑菇嗎？」呃，這下可把我問住了。我就馬上東查查、西找找。終於在《十萬個為什麼》里找到了，便回答道：「可能是因為蘑菇是由一種微生物長成，而這種微生物在適當的條件下就會生長成蘑菇。拖把呢，經常是潮濕的，又放在陰暗的角落，木棍底部會有些腐爛，滿足了微生物的生長條件，所以木棍與布條的交接處就長出菌——蘑菇啦！這跟下雨後草叢會長出蘑菇的道理是一樣的。」說完這些，我長長地吁了一口氣，同時用期待的目光看著爸爸。問道：「我說得對嗎？」爸爸向我贊許地點點頭，說：「是的！」我還增長了不少的知識。我真高興，因為我發現了拖把上長蘑菇的秘密，並且懂得了其中的道理。其實科學就在你我的身邊，只要你認真觀察，積極思考，就一定會發現許多有趣的事情，嘗到發現的喜悅與快樂！

還有一次，奶奶因有點事要外出，叫我幫她看看鋪子。過了一會兒，有一個叔叔來買東西，他問我：「小朋友，這種東西多少錢？」「兩塊二毛。」我答道。後來那個叔叔拿了八件，給了我十七塊四毛，我心裡一算：二八十六，還差兩毛錢，於是我連忙說：「叔叔，你應該付十七塊六毛，還差兩毛錢」。那個叔叔就補了兩毛錢，我心裡想數學的作用還挺大哩！
