One hot summer day a fox was walking through an orchard. He stopped before a bunch of grapes. They were ripe and juicy.
"I'm just feeling thirsty," he thought. So he backed up a few paces, got a running start, jumped up, but could not reach the grapes.
He walked back. One, two, three, he jumped up again, but still, he missed the grapes.
The fox tried again and again, but never succeeded. At last he decided to give it up.
He walked away with his nose in the air, and said「I am sure they are sour.」

There are an old horse and a little horse on a farm. One day the old horse asks the

and does not know what to do next. Just then Aunt Cow is passing by.
The little horse asks, 「Aunt Cow, please tell me. Can I cross the river 」.
Aunt Cow answers, 「It is not deep, you can cross it.」
When the little horse begins to cross the river, a little squirrel shouts at him, 「Little
horse, don't cross it, you will be drowned. Yesterday one of my friends was drowned

"No, good sir," replied the Lamb, "I have not yet tasted grass." Again said the Wolf, "You drink of my well." "No," exclaimed the Lamb, "I never yet drank water, for as yet my mother's milk is both food and drink to me." Upon which the Wolf seized him and ate him up, saying, "Well! A BAT who fell upon the ground and was caught by a Weasel pleaded to be spared his life. The Weasel refused, saying that he was by nature the enemy of all birds. The Bat assured him that he was not a bird, but a mouse, and thus was set free. Shortly afterwards the Bat again fell to the ground and was caught by another Weasel, whom he likewise entreated not to eat him. The Weasel said that he had a special hostility to mice. The Bat assured him that he was not a mouse, but a bat, and thus a second time escaped.
It is wise to turn circumstances to good account.

They replied, "The dew." The Ass resolved that he would live only upon dew, and in a short time died of hunger.

A LION was awakened from sleep by a Mouse running over his face. Rising up angrily, he caught him and was about to kill him, when the Mouse piteously entreated, saying: "If you would only spare my life, I would be sure to repay your kindness." The Lion laughed and let him go. It happened shortly after this that the Lion was caught by some hunters, who bound him by strong ropes to the ground. The Mouse, recognizing his roar, came and gnawed the rope with his teeth and set him free, exclaiming:
"You ridiculed the idea of my ever being able to help you, expecting to receive from me any repayment of your favor; now you know that it is possible for even a Mouse to con benefits on a Lion."

A CHARCOAL-BURNER carried on his trade in his own house. One day he met a friend, a Fuller, and entreated him to come and live with him, saying that they should be far better neighbors and that their housekeeping expenses would be lessened. The Fuller replied, "The arrangement is impossible as far as I am concerned, for whatever I should whiten, you would immediately blacken again with your charcoal."

A FATHER had a family of sons who were perpetually quarreling among themselves. When he failed to heal their disputes by his exhortations, he determined to give them a practical illustration of the evils of disunion; and for this purpose he one day told them to bring him a bundle of sticks. When they had done so, he placed the faggot into the hands of each of them in succession, and ordered them to break it in pieces. They tried with all their strength, and were not able to do it. He next opened the faggot, took the sticks separately, one by one, and again put them into his sons' hands, upon which they broke them easily. He then addressed them in these words: "My sons, if you are of one mind, and unite to assist each other, you will be as this faggot, uninjured by all the attempts of your enemies; but if you are divided among yourselves , you will be broken as easily as these sticks."

A BOY was hunting for locusts. He had caught a goodly number, when he saw a Scorpion, and mistaking him for a locust, reached out his hand to take him. The Scorpion, showing his sting, said: If you had but touched me, my friend, you would have lost me, and all your locusts too!"

A FISHERMAN skilled in music took his flute and his nets to the seashore. Standing on a projecting rock, he played several tunes in the hope that the fish, attracted by his melody, would of their own accord dance into his net, which he had placed below. At last, having long waited in vain, he laid aside his flute, and casting his net into the sea, made an excellent haul of fish. A CARTER was driving a wagon along a country lane, when the wheels sank down deep into a rut. Hercules, it is said, appeared and thus addressed him: "Put your shoulders to the wheels, my man. Goad on your bullocks, and never more pray to me for help, until you have done your best to help yourself, or depend upon it you will henceforth pray in vain."

But cleansing his feathers as often as he would, he could not change their color, while through want of food he perished.
Change of habit cannot alter Nature.

He soon discovered the secret of the hidden treasure, and digging down, came to the lump of gold, and stole it. The Miser, on his next visit, found the hole empty and began to tear his hair and to make loud lamentations. A neighbor, seeing him overcome with grief and learning the cause, said, "Pray do not grieve so; but go and take a stone, and place it in the hole, and fancy that the gold is still lying there. It will do you quite the same service; for when the gold was there, you had it not, as you did not make the slightest use of it."

仙度拉：哈利！這很危險你不要去啦！
Sandra: Harry! This is very dangerous!
哈利：沒關系！總是要有人出來幫大家，因為檳榔樹的涵水量並不高，而且根部無法抓土，雖然賣檳榔賺比較多錢，但是如果全部的人都種檳榔的話，一定會發生土石流，村人會有生命危險的。
Harry: It doesn't matter! We must help ourselves. Selling betel nuts can earn more money but the roots are unable to catch the soil. Besides betel nut trees cannot conserve much water. If all the villagers plant it, it is sure to happen mudslide and people will have life danger.
仙度拉：那我得趕快去告訴村人才行
Sandra: I go to tell the villages.
（轉身要走，想一下，心理的話還是跟哈利說），
仙度拉：哈利！原來你這麼勇敢，我要跟你說一聲對不起，之前我對你這麼壞。
Sandra: Harry! You are so brave. I am so sorry for treating you bad before.
哈利：沒關系！請你幫我一個忙！
Harry: It』s all right! You find some people to help me, thank you! （說悄悄話，裝石頭進袋子）
哈利：今晚山神要抓妖了
Harry: The mountain god will catch the monster tonight.
【仙度拉下場帶村民上場，大家聽】
第四幕
地點：樹林
人物：哈利、仙度拉、巫師、村長、眾村民
【哈利上場】
哈利：好重啊！這一萬個金幣真重啊！
Harry: Very heavy! These 10,000 gold coins are very heavy!
【巫師怪聲音出】
[The strange sound appear ]
哈利：好恐怖喔！難道是惡魔嗎？趕快跑！
Harry: So horrible! A devil? Run quickly
（故意留下袋子，跑去旁邊躲起來，巫師跑出來拿錢，哈利發出怪聲音說）
(Leaving the sack on purpose, run to nearby to hide from, the witch runs out and takes the money, Harry emit the strange sound and say)
【村民怪聲音】
哈利：嗚嗚嗚….是誰敢來我的地盤！
Harry: Wu! -. Who dares to come in my domain!
巫師：啊！….不會是真的有惡魔吧？
Witch: Oh! A devil? Really?
哈利：甚麼惡魔！可惡！我是山神！我要把你變青蛙！
Harry: What devil! I am the mountain god! I will turn you into a frog!
巫師：不要哇！我….我…是不小心走進來的。
Witch: Oh! No! I didn』t mean to come in.
哈利：虔誠的向我朝拜！（巫師快速地拜拜）你睜開眼睛不夠誠心喔！（巫
師閉上眼睛拜拜）
Harry:Bend your knees and worship me.(witch visits and visits fast) Don』t open your eyes! (witch closes eyes to visit and visit)
巫師：我是真誠的，請相信我！
Witch: I am sincere, please believe me!
哈利：你得閉著眼睛趴在地上，這樣我才相信你是真心的。（巫師按照哈利所說的話做，然後眾村民出現）
Harry: You must lie prone closing eyes on the ground, in this way I believe that you are wholehearted . (witch is according to make by what Harry say, then Harry appeared ), (all persons rush up in a crowd)
村長：原來所有的事都是你一手策劃的啊！巫師！
Village head: You planned all these things alone! witch!
村長：巫師！你怎麼可以為了寶藏而害大家呢？
Village head: Witch! How can you hurt everybody for the treasure?
仙度拉：其實集集的寶藏就是這些老樹。
Sandra: In fact, the treasureof Ji-Ji are these old trees.
威廉：為什麼？
William: Why?
哈利：知識就是力量啊！因為許多動物及植物在老樹生活或進出，這些老樹就像我們的好
朋友，除了讓我們遮陽避雨外，樹葉可以當有機肥料，且大樹的涵水量高，可以涵
養水源，而且根部抓土深，可以避免土石流，所以集集的寶藏就是這些樟樹木，樹
木是守護集集的力量，我們應該保護它才對。
Harry: Knowledge is the power! Because the animals and plants live or pass in and out on the old trees, these old trees are just like our good friends. Besides, the trees let us sunshade and take shelter from rain and their leaves can act as the organic fertilizer. Moreover, big trees can contain lots of water and conserve the source of water. They also catch the soil deeply so they can prevent from mudslide. So the treasure of Ji-Ji are these camphor trees. They are the patron saints of Ji-Ji and we should protect them.
巫師：我錯了！原來我這麼笨，不曉得樹木對我們的貢獻，請給再我一次機會，我願意當
森林志工，保護樹木。
Witch: I am wrong! I am so stupid! Now I know that these trees are so important for us. Please give me one more chance, I would like to act as the forest annals worker to protect them.
村長：哈利！謝謝你！你真的是第一名勇士，我們以你為榮（大家舉起哈利慶祝）
Village head: Harry! Thank you! You are the best warrior. We are all proud of you. (everybody lifts his card to celebrate)
