I work with Volunteers for Wildlife, a rescue and ecation organization at Bailey Arboretum in LocustValley. Trying to help injured, displaced or sick creatures can be heartbreaking; survival is never certain. However, when it works, it is simply beautiful.

I got a rescue call from a woman in Muttontown. She had found a young owl on the ground. When I arrived, I saw a 2-to 3-week-old owl. It had already been placed in a carrier for safety.

And it was accompanied in the nest by the greatest sight of all — LUNCH!The parents had done their ty and would probably continue to do so.

這部分內容主要考察的是賓語補足語的知識點:
「主語+謂語+賓語+賓語補足語」結構:有一些句子有了前3個成分後,還需要有一個賓語補足語對賓語做出補充說明,表明賓語的身份,特徵等,使句意完整。賓語和賓語補足語一起構成復合賓語。
在表示心理狀態的動詞後作賓語補足語。這類動詞有:consider,think,believe,discover,find,imagine,judge,suppose,prove等。這類動詞後的不定式通常是「to be+形容詞或名詞」結構,think,consider,find後的to be常可省略。
復合賓語的兩個組成部分在意義上是一種邏輯上的「主謂關系」,賓語補足語(簡稱為賓補)說明賓語所表示的人或物的屬類、性質、狀態等。賓補在句中的位置是相對固定的,單個跟在名詞前,多個放在句尾。
為了強調而前移當我們要突出強調賓補時,就把它移至句首。置於句首的賓補可以是名詞、形容詞(短語)、分詞短語、介詞短語等。如:Chairman of the committee they have elected Eleanor.他們選舉埃利諾擔任這個委員會的主席。
