Hey everyone. It's Stacie. Sorry I haven't been on in a while, but I've been preoccupied with some pretty creepy shit. For the past three weeks, the police have been scouting my property, escorting me to where ever I have to go, and, as childish as this may seem, looking under my bed. Trust me. There's a reason.
Three weeks ago, my dog Buddy went missing. Normally, this wouldn't be much of problem. Buddy generally ran off down the street chasing cars, harassing cats - you know, all the annoying, cliche things a dog could possibly do. Believe me - I've tried training him, but he's impossible. He's like a child. But he's my child, as weird as that sounds. My big dog who's just a little puppy at heart. Anyway, he'd be gone for about two hours, then come strait home. However, after the fourth hour, Buddy didn't come tearing through the doggy door. I started to worry a little bit. What could've happened to him?
My mind filled with each possible visionary tale, showing me what could've happened to him. My heart started to race. Then I remembered something. On rare occasions, Buddy would go to visit my father on the other end of town. I took a sigh of relief, picked up the phone, and proceeded to call my dad. As the phone rang, I stepped out onto the porch. I had a rather uneasy feeling.
Like someone was watching me. I looked up and down the street, around the corner of my house, over in my neighbors' yards. I couldn't see anyone. I shook my head, realizing how childish I was being. Getting scared for no reason. I heard my dad pick up his phone. He let out a cough to clear his throat.

"Y'ello?"

"Hey dad, it's Stacie."

"Oh, hey hun, how are ya?" He started to yammer on about his day, but I intervened.
"Buddy's missing - he's not with you is he?"
"Why would he be with me? He's your dog." I was silent for a while. Now I was really worried. Again, I got lost in all the possible thoughts of what could've happened to my friend. I was on the verge of tears.
"Stacie? You okay hunny?" My fathers voice snapped me out of it. I didn't want him to hear me cry - so I gave him a response that didn't require me to open my mouth.
"Mm hm." I responded. Even then, you could tell I was about to have a breakdown. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." I said - my voice cracking as I said it. I covered the mouth piece on my phone and swallowed the lump in the back of my throat. I composed myself, then started talking again. "Could you do me a favour and just call me if he shows up there?"
"Sure thing sweety, I'll let you know." With that, we hung up and I went back inside. Still with that feeling. That feeling like someone was staring at the back of head. I tried to dismiss it from my mind with optimistic thoughts of being reunited with my Buddy again. It seemed to be working for the most part. I looked at the time, remembering that I had to wake up for the early shift tomorrow. So I turned off all the lights downstairs. Then I made my way upstairs to the bathroom to take a quick bath and brush my teeth. Finally, I closed the bathroom window and made my way to bed.
At about 3:30am, I heard some noises coming from the bathroom. I wasn't entirely awake, and I didn't exactly feel like investigating. I rubbed my eyes, which actually made my vision more blurred than it already was. I propped myself up on my elbows and caught a glimpse of a dark figure making its way under my bed. I was now fully awake and in panic mode. Suddenly I remembered Buddy. Every night, he would always sleep underneath my bed. I guess he liked the cool atmosphere.
"Buddy?" I asked as I flopped my hand over the side of the bed. I let my fingers dangle down in the darkness to show him it was me. So he could smell them or something. Nothing happened. My heart started to race again. "You okay Bud?" I asked with a somewhat shaky voice. I slowly laid my head back down on the pillow to help lower my hand further into the abyss.
Then, I felt Buddy's smiley tongue lick my fingers. I let out a sigh of relief.
"You silly dog," I said as I raised my hand and closed my eyes, "I thought I was gonna have a heart attack." With that, I proceeded to fall back to sleep.
Although, I couldn't help but query about something. When he made his way under the bed, he sounded... Different. As if his steps were heavier or something. I started to feel uneasy. I felt the same way then as I did when I was talking to my dad on the porch. But I had to wake up early, so I let it go.
About half an hour later I awoke with a chill, accompanied by a noise. Again, it came from the bathroom. It was a dripping noise. Slow, but nonetheless a noise that woke me for the second time. "Must be the tap." I said to myself. I fought myself to get out of bed and fix the problem. When my feet hit the floor, Buddy started licking my ankle. I jerked away from his tongue.
"Eeeeewww, Buddy, no." I said as I walked to the bathroom. I closed the window with slight confusion. Didn't I already close the window before bed? I asked myself. I just shrugged it off and tightened the taps at the sink. I made my way back to my bed, again, slinging my arm over the side of the bed. I felt a heavy breathing on my hand followed by a quick, but deep bite.
I jerked my hand away.
"Ow! Buddy!" I yelled at him, in a somewhat scolding manner.
"Go away - lay down somewhere else."
With that, he made his way to the bathroom. Buddy was acting so strange. I had known him to nibble on my fingers, but not full on bite my damn hand. I felt a warm liquid drip down my hand. I grabbed a couple of Kleenex, and made a temporary band - aid. I was too tired to get up and put an actual band - aid on. I tried to get back to sleep, but Buddy was making even more noise in the bathroom. It sounded like he was chewing on something. Something tough - something he was trying to tear apart.
"Good God - Buddy shut up!" His chewing ceased. I closed my eyes and started to drift away.
Not long after, I was woken up yet again when Buddy decided to jump on the bed. Something struck me as odd though. The side he was on sunk down more than it should've. I was a little freaked out at this point. But, again, I focused on how I had to wake up early, so I brushed it off. Then, I felt him lick my face. I was really close to locking Buddy out of my room.
"Buddy, enou -" suddenly, he was nibbling my ear. It dawned on me. This wasn't Buddy. I felt a shiver go down my spine. My heart felt like it was going to jump into my throat... Then... I heard someone chuckle.
"You're delicious." said a psychotic whisper from behind me.
My eyes widened. I panicked. I let out a deafening scream as I rolled myself to punch him in the face. The stranger fell off the other side of the bed and made a loud 'thud' on the floor. I jolted out of bed, and ran towards the baseball bat that I keep by the door. I turned around and caught a glimpse of him running into the bathroom. I slowly crept towards the bathroom, ready to swing. I could hear nothing but my own heartbeat getting louder and faster with each step I took. I was at the doorway. I saw nothing but the open window. I hurried in and closed it.
Then I heard the dripping noise again. I swung at the shower curtain, taking it off its hooks. He was in the shower - I swung again. When my bat made contact with the torso, blood splattered all over me. I took and second look and saw the most horrible sight. It finally made sense. What that dripping noise was. Buddy. Mutilated. Hanging in the shower by his own intestines.
That sick bastard designed a pulley system made from my dog. I dropped the bat and sunk to my knees. I felt my dinner starting to rise back into my throat. I pulled myself towards the toilet, and vomited at the grotesque sight. I couldn't get his voice out of my head. I couldn't stop shaking. Tears were running down my face by this point. I had never been more scared about who or what could be underneath my bed.
Luckily, one of my neighbours heard the commotion and called the police. They said I was lucky. Turns out, this guy's a rather unstable indivial. Apparently, he had been locked away since he was 12 for murdering and... Devouring everyone in his family. Including his pets. Just recently, this crazed cannibal slaughtered his way out of the mental institution that he had been kept in.
Considering what could've happened, I am rather lucky. So, after three weeks of being couped up in a hotel room with a certified psychologist, the police have assured me that he is long gone. Now I'm home. Updating everyone - assuring them I haven't walked off the face of the earth... Although. I'm not gonna lie, every now and then I still feel like he's watching me. Like he's right behind me - waiting to get another taste. But he's gone now - so there's nothing to worry about, right?
It's kinda chilly in here. I'll be right back. I just have to close the window.

I worked in my local pub and over the weekends and some times ring the week
I would stay over there with the other bar manager. We shared a room. It wasn't
strange to us to hear things at night. Sometimes the juke box would come on;
sometimes you could hear voices and laughter coming from the bar. I used to like
hearing that, as if those people who had really enjoyed coming to the pub still
liked to pop in for a late
drink!

Every morning, no matter how much you had scrubbed and polished the bar top
the night before, you would find three water marks, as if the landlord and two
regulars had stayed and had a drink together. Then other things started
happening.

When I was in the bathroom there would be knocks on the door. I would call
out but get no answer, and sometimes find there had been no one upstairs but me.
I would hear running footsteps and a child's laughter. The sash window in the
room I stayed in would never close fully and condensation used to build up on my
full length mirror. In the morning you could see two small hand prints at the
bottom of the mirror. Again, these occurrences didn't bother me; in fact it was
quite
comforting.

At night I would sometimes feel someone get into bed with me and feel two
little hands in the small of my back. However, things started happening that DID
bother me.

After locking up one night I and the other bar manager were cleaning up. Now,
in the ladies toilets there was a door that opened up into a courtyard, however
no one had ever found the key. As I was checking out the toilets, I saw the door
handle move. I thought someone had managed to get into the courtyard and called
to my friend to look through the window. He didn't see anyone. Then the door
handle started moving much more violently and I ran out to my
friend.

We both watched through the window as an unseen hand rattled the door handle.
We took off upstairs quite quickly, put all the lights on and slept in the
living room that night. I hated having to go to the toilet at night from that
point
on.

The bathroom was at the end of corridor and I would always feel as if
something was walking right behind me. I once saw a tall, dark shadow walk
around the corner and into the kitchen, but there was no one there. I started to
feel scared to be upstairs on my
own.

Downstairs, in the bar, it had a much more friendly atmosphere, but upstairs
felt oppressive and claustrophobic. One night I woke up to find my sash window
open and the tall figure standing on the balcony, looking out across the town.
It then jumped off the rooftop. The child I had sensed, in such a comforting
way, now began to scare me too. It was a little girl, and it seemed that with
the appearance of this dark man she became intensely scared. I would see her
standing in the doorway screaming while the black shadow approached behind her.
I would hear cries and screams in the dead of night. My friend ended up pulling
down the old fireplace that had been bricked up in the room we shared. That did
it for I sensed something dreadful in the entire pub after he did that. I never
worked or stayed there
again.

The cemetery in the hill was haunted, all the residents of nearby village didn't dare to pass there. There was a person with family name of Hou who was known as bold (这一句没直接翻译成名字叫侯大胆,而是翻成“素称大胆的姓侯的人”,当然如果你觉得要直接翻成名叫侯大胆也可,但外国人可不知道中文的译音“大胆Dadan”是胆子大的意思,恐怕失去了意义), he didn't believe it and insisted on staying there a night to find out what was going on. Some busybodies also went with him. But it was not an ordinary bustle, many persons had gone back on the way and only 5 or 6 persons came to the cemetery in the last. It became completely dark and the cemetery became more and more horrible. Nobody else but a person from other village stayed there with Hou.

There had been nothing happening for the whole night. The sky became a little blue and there were already cocks crowing far away. Giving a stretch to his body, Hou complained: "What haunted! Nothing special at all! But it has kept me watching for a whole night, "

That person responded to him: "Well, I haven't seen any ghost though I have kept watching for more than a hundred years!"

Ivan was a timid little man---so timid that the villages called him “Pigeon” or mocked him with the title “Ivan the Terrible.”

Every night Ivan stopped in at the tavern which was one the edge of the village graveyard. Ivan never crossed the graveyard to get to his lonely shack on the other side. That path would save many minutes, but he had never taken it---not even in the full light of noon.

Late one winter's night, when bitter wind and snow beat against the tavern, customers took up the familiar mockery. Ivan's mother was scared by a canary when she carried him in her womb. “Ivan the Terrible---Ivan the Timid One.”

Ivan's weak protest only encouraged them, and they jeered cruelly when the Cossack captain flung his horrid challenge at their victim.

“You are a pigeon, Ivan. You'll walk around the graveyard in this cold---but you dare not cross it.” Ivan murmured, “The graveyard is nothing to cross, Captain. It is nothing but earth, like all the other earth.”

The captain cried, “A challenge, then! Cross the graveyard tonight, Ivan, and I'll give you five rubles---five gold rubles!”

Perhaps it was the vodka. Perhaps it was the temptation of the five gold rubles. No one knew why. Ivan, moistening his lips, said suddenly: “Yes, Captain, I'll cross the graveyard.” The tavern echoed with their disbelief. The captain winked to the men and unbuckled his sword.

“Here, Ivan. When you get to the center of the graveyard, in front of the biggest tomb, stick the sword into the ground. In the morning we shall go there. If the sword is in the ground---five rubles to you!” Ivan took the sword. The men drank a toast: “To Ivan the Terrible!” They roared laughing.

The wind howled around Ivan as he closed the door of the tavern behind him. The cold was knife-sharp. He buttoned his long coat and crossed the dirt road. He could hear the captain's voice, louder than the rest, yelling after him, “Five rubles, pigeon! If you live!”

Ivan pushed the graveyard gate open. He walked fast. “Earth, just earth… just like any other earth.” But the darkness was a massive dread.

“Five gold rubles…” The wind was cruel and the sword was like ice in his hands. Ivan shivered under the long, thick coat and broke into a limping run.

He stopped the large tomb. He must have sobbed---that was the sound that was drowned in the wind. And he kneeled, cold and terrified, and drove the sword through the crust into the hard ground. With all his strength, he pushed it down to the hilt. It was done. The graveyard… the challenge… five gold rubles.

Ivan started to rise from his knees. But he could not move. Something gripped him in an unyielding hold. Ivan tugged and lurched and pulled---gasping in his panic, shaken by a horrible fear. He cried out in terror, then made senseless, gurgling noises.

They found Ivan, next morning on the ground in front of the tomb that was in the center of the graveyard. He was frozen to death. The look on his face was not that of a frozen man, but of a man killed by some nameless horror.

And the captain's sword was in the ground where Ivan had pounded it---through the dragging folds of his long coat.

2。Suddenly, the doorbell rang

I opened the door: there was nothing outside, but total darkness. I must have a drumming in the ears, I told myself and closed the door again. No sooner had I switched off the light than the doorbell rang again, even more loudly. "Damn, who's making fun of me?" I swore, and turned the doorknob. The door sprang open: there was still total darkness outside. I stepped out, getting my eyes accustomed to the pitch-blackness. By and by, I made out a tiny flicker in front.
I stretched out my hands and touched something. Oh, it was an arm of somebody. "Oh, ghost!" I shouted.
"No, I'm not." said a male voice, "I'm an electrician. The fuse of this floor is broken. I'm going to change it. But the battery of my electric torch was bad. I just rang your doorbell to ask for a spare battery. But you just slammed the door shut on me. So I have to ring your doorbell again."
"Oh, that was a misunderstanding," said I, "you see, I'm very near-sighted

3。Herman was spending the night with some friends who lived in the country. He went to bed late and did not sleep well. Off in the distance he thought he heard the sound of a horse drawn carriage. He got up, went to the window, and looked out. There, in the full moon, he saw the carriage he had heard right outside of the house. The carriage looked like it was carrying a coffin. The driver of the carriage looked up at the window where Herman stood. The driver's face was ghostly pale and very thin. "All aboard", the driver said to Herman. Herman stepped back from the window and laid back down on the bed. He eventually fell back into a fitful sleep. The next morning, he told his friends about the carriage and driver and they all decided that he just must have had a very bad dream. Later that day, Herman went back home to his apartment in the city. Just as he started to board the elevator , he looked at the elevator operator. What did Herman see?
